Iggy Azalea Quits Twitter With One Last Rant
Iggy Azalea is the latest celeb to quit social media after a range of criticism and shade being thrown at the Aussie star and fellow female artists.
In a lengthy twitter message, Iggy said she is taking a hiatus from social media - handing over the reigns to her management to run her social media sites.
Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it's shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
I feel the hatred and pettiness i see online at all times is at making me become an angry person and I cannot be that.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
To become nasty because of the way I feel iam treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise i will try to keep smiling.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
But I also want to let my fans know iam taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed -IA. Love you all. Peace out!— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2015
This message comes just weeks after Iggy turned to twitter to rave about a breach in privacy laws from a local pizza takeaway, Papa Johns.
A delivery boy allegedly shared the singer's private mobile phone number with a number of family and friends who were fans of the artist - who then began to contact her.
It will be interesting to see how long the social media hiatus lasts.
While we are unsure if this relates to the same situation, fellow 'Problem' singer Ariana Grande also lashed out on social media today after being judged on her slim frame next to Nicki Minaj's more hourglass figure in an Instagram post.
Ariana Grande allegedy responded with the following:
“When did it become socially acceptable to comment on what you think is ‘wrong’ with other people’s bodies?? we were having fun! dancing on stage. ‘what’s she shaking tho???’ i’m shaking my pretty, cute, petite ass next to nicki’s pretty, big booty. both are f**king awesome.”
