Are These The Top 10 Best Songs Of The 80's?

It’s the decade we’ll never forget. From the fashion, the hair and the music – the 80’s certainly left a lasting impression.

But if you were to pick just one song from the decade that pushed the boundaries, what would it be?

Well according to Pitchfork, that honour goes to none other than Prince and the Revolution for Purple Rain.

The song has been named top of the list of the 100 all-time best songs of the 1980s, followed by Michael Jackson’s Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ (#2) and N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton (#3).

Describing Prince’s hit as “so good it still moves people to tears” the track beat out the likes of Kate Bush, Joy Division and The Smiths who also featured in the top ten.

The question is – do you agree? What songs would top your list?
