Claims Mel Gibson Turns On Photographer
Oscar-winning actor Mel Gibson has been accused of shoving, verbally abusing and spitting at a Sydney photographer who snapped him with his new girlfriend.
The Daily Telegraph's Kristi Miller says Gibson complained she was invading his space and disrespecting him by taking the photo outside Paddington's Palace Verona Cinema on Sunday night.
"I thought he was going to punch me in the face," Ms Miller told the paper.
"He was spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, calling me a dog, saying I'm not even a human being and I will go to hell. He swore and called me a c.... It was non-stop, he didn't even breathe."
Miller said she feared being pushed onto the road and the abuse only stopped when Gibson's 24-year-old girlfriend, Rosalind Ross, intervened.
Ross said "that's enough" and apologised to her before the couple turned and crossed the road, Miller said.
The incident was reported to police. Gibson, 59, is in Australia to direct World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge.
