Is Harry Styles Giving T-Swift A Taste Of Her Own Medicine?
Watch out, Taylor Swift! Two can play at that game!
Taylor Swift is notorious for writing about her break-ups, so a song about One Direction member, Harry Styles was always on the cards.
They dated three years ago, and obviously, it didn't work out. But songs, allegedly about the boy band member, appeared on her album 1989.
Tracks like Style, Shake It Off and Out Of The Woods are rumoured to be about Styles.
The boy band has had no musical response until now, with their new single, Perfect, from the unreleased album Made In The A.M.
It was released this week and has many speculating that it's about Swift. Just have a read over these lyrics...
"But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms/ And if you like having secret little rendezvous/ If you like to do the things you know that we shouldn’t do/ Baby, I'm perfect/ Baby, I'm perfect for you," Styles sings on the chorus.
"And if you like midnight driving with the windows down/ And if you like going places we can’t even pronounce/ If you like to do whatever you've been dreaming about/ Baby, you’re perfect."
But it's this line that really gives it away: "And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out/ Oh, yeah/ And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about/ Baby, I'm perfect/ Baby, we're perfect."
Take a listen:
But there are some fans out there who are suggesting it takes chorus cues from Taylor Swift's song Style.
Although neither Swift or Styles have confirmed the songs are about each other, Styles offered this perfect response last year, when Shake It Off was big:
"She's really good, so they're good songs," he said of Swift.
"I'm really lucky in that sense."
"We write from personal experience, and I think everyone does, so it would be hypocritical of us to be like, 'Oh you can’t write about us.'"
