Jerry Seinfeld Auctions 17 Classic Cars, Pockets $22 Million
Jerry Seinfeld placed 17 of his classic cars up for auction. By the end of the day, Jerry had another 22 million dollars in his already fat bank account.
His 1960 Volkswagen Beetle fetched 121,000 dollars, which is a record amount for that model.
But the prize of the auction was a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. It sold for over 5 million dollars! The 550 Spyder is the model that James Dean fatally crashed.
Another Porsche, a 1973 Can-Am Spyder went for 3 million dollars.
Jerry explained his reason behind unloading so many cars. (quote) “I still love these cars, but it’s time for someone else to enjoy, as I have.”
Jerry is the highest paid comedian. Last year, he earned an estimated 35 million dollars. All told, Seinfeld is almost worth one billion dollars. He's laughed all the way to the bank.
