Justin Theroux Almost Died Scuba Diving On Honeymoon
In August this year, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux did what almost no celebrity could do - have a secret wedding.
The couple celebrated their honeymoon at the Four Seasons in Bora Bora, and Justin has revealed that he "almost died" while he appeared on Live With Kelly And Michael.
He recalled how he and pals took scuba-diving lessons on the trip, and after a positive experience, he decided to try it again.
But the next time, they got a different instructor who didn't speak much English.
After diving 40 feet underwater, Justin realised his oxygen tank was almost empty, and after signalling to the instructor he was ignored and urged to continue with the group.
A friend noticed his situation and alerted the instructor.
“I was using every hand signal I could possibly figure out,” he said.
“I said, ‘Look.’ And he went, ‘Oh my God, you’re about to die.’
“And the guy just reaches and grabs my respirator and, he has like an emergency respirator. Why are we doing an emergency when earth is right there [though]? I can see it, about 40 feet [away].
"But I can’t just swim up to the top. So he pulls the respirator out, sticks it in my mouth, hits this clear button which sends all of these bubbles out and sends water down my throat. And now I’m like coughing and hacking underwater.”
He also thought that he might have been victim to a strange conspiracy.
“Your brain goes into a crazy place,” he said, adding that he thought, “Oh my God, this is some plot to kill me.”
He hasn't been scuba diving since, and we don't blame him.
