Naomi Campbell Gets 6 Month Suspended Sentence For Assault
Naomi Campbell is famous for her temper and has now faced the music after her 2009 assault on a Sicilian paparazzo.
She was convicted of assault by a Sicilian court on Friday and given six months suspended prison sentence, Britain's Telegraph reports.
Her lawyer has vowed to appeal the ruling.
"We are appealing the ruling surrounding the 2009 incident," attorney Guido Carlo Alleva said in a statement according to E! News.
"Due to the ongoing legal process, we cannot discuss the matter further at this time."
Gaetano Di Giovanni, was snapping pictures of the model with her then-boyfriend, Russian billionaire Vladimir Doronin, as they stepped off their boat in the Sicilian town of Lipari.
He also took photos of the couple while they were walking through the narrow streets doing some sightseeing, when Naomi hit him with her purse.
The handbag scratched Di Giovanni's eye, which led him to seek medical treatment and take three days to recover.
"I had just started taking some shots of her and I did not expect such a violent reaction," he said in 2013.
Naomi, 45, is no stranger to the law, in 2007 she served five days community service after she threw her cellphone at her housekeeper.
But even if the model does serve time in the big-house, we're sure she'll be able to hold her own.
