New Dad Ronnie Wood 'Quits Smoking'
Ronnie Wood has reportedly ditched his smoking habit since welcoming his twin girls.
The Rolling Stones guitarist, 69, has reportedly switched to e-cigarettes after recently welcoming twin girls Alice Rose and Gracie Jane with his theatre producer wife Sally, 38, in May. The rocker's publicist issued a statement confirming the couple had welcomed the girls following a report by Britain's The Sun newspaper.
The British rocker has four adult children from his previous two marriages to the late Krissy Findlay and Jo Wood.
A source tells The Sun: “Ronnie is giving them up for good. He’s really serious about kicking the habit and has been constantly puffing on his vape stick the last week."
However, the decision has reportedly not gone down well with his former drinking buddy, bandmember Keith Richards.
"It’s the longest he’s gone without cigarettes in 50 years. But while Sally is over the moon Keith has been telling everyone he looks ridiculous," the insider added.
"Keith says giving up fags shows a ‘complete lack of commitment’ which has amused Ronnie no end. He jokingly told Ronnie they might as well not be pals seeing as they can no longer drink or smoke together anymore.”
Ronnie is now sober after he was previously treated for alcoholism. He has undergone several stays in rehab.
He once told British newspaper The Guardian: "I’ve seen all the people dropping like flies over the years and it makes me realise how lucky I am."
