Sad News Has Left Queen Elizabeth II In Mourning

Queen Elizabeth II is in mourning after burying one of her beloved corgis, Holly, last week at her Balmoral property in Scotland.

The 13-year-old pet passed away after suffering with illness.

The Queen now only has one Welsh corgi named Willow - as well as two dorgis (dachshund-corgi-cross) named Candy and Vulcan.

Known for her love of the animal, the Queen has posed for portraits with her multiple corgis / dorgis throughout the years - most recently to mark her 90th birthday in a photo series by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Holly also was one of the corgis who made an appearance in the James Bond sketch during the London Olympic Opening Ceremony in 2012.

Holly's burial site at Balmoral Castle is in a spot where the Queen can see from her drawing room window, so the beloved pet will never be forgotten.
