8 Celebrities Dead After Reality Show Helicopter Crash

We were devastated to learn that the show has ended in tragedy, after two helicopters crashed mid-air in Argentina during a shoot for the French show yesterday. The crash left 8 famous celebrities and two pilots dead.

'Dropped' is the new reality adventure game from Sweden. Similar to I'm A celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, Dropped is a challenge of endurance and survival skills.

Two teams of celebrities are dropped from a helicopter into some of the most danegrous and inhospitable places on earth. Their goal is to survive and find civilisation as fast as they can.

The BBC reports that the choppers were carrying eight contestants of the TF1 reality competition Dropped and that all died along with the two Argentine pilots. “An explosion occurred, and it’s believed that they must have collided,” said La Rioja Secretary of Security Cesar Angulo, according to the BBC. The accident happened in near the Andes mountains in northwest Argentina, about 1160 kilometres from Buenos Aires.

Among the deceased included sport stars Florence Arthaud, 57, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine, 28, and Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Camille Muffat, 25.

TF1 said in a statement: “We learn with great sadness about the accident during the filming of the Dropped show. All TF1 teams come together in this terrible time with the pain of the families and relatives of the victims.”

Our hearts go out to the families of the deceased.
