Parents Up In Arms Over Marijuana Leggings Aimed At Toddlers

Parents have hit out at Amazon after a pair of controversial leggings aimed at toddlers were listed for sale on its site.

Many parents say the leggings, which are aimed at two to six years olds, appear to have marijuana leaves covering them. However, the website describes the pattern as 'digital leaves.'

A grandmother from Florida was first to flag her concerns, contacting a local news program to tell them about the inappropriate clothing.

“I just think that’s very inappropriate for a three-year-old, not something they should be advertising," she said.

Anti-drug activists say the leggings are sending the wrong message to children and that normalising marijuana use to children is abuse.

Amazon has since removed the original advertisement, but the same design is now available on other seller's sites.
