Shockingly Cruel AFL Instagram Post That Broke Our Heart

We all know that AFL superstar Buddy Franklin brought to light the issue of mental health late last year, but unsurprisingly, he’s not the only one in his circle affected by the illness.

AFL star Mitch Clark has revealed just how cruel people can be, by sending him an image mocking his ongoing battle with mental illness.

He was sent a doctored photo of himself with what appears to be a drawn on noose positioned around his neck.

Instead of brushing it aside as the rubbish that it is, he decided to publish it to his Instagram account.

“Receiving photos like this with a message attached which I will not repeat show me that we still have a long way to go in understanding mental health,” Clark wrote.

“It also pushes me further in wanting to educate those that don’t know any better. Let’s break down the stigma. For those who are struggling, please know that you’re not alone. We’re in this together.”
