Sick Note Found Excusing Germanwings Co-Pilot From Work
German pilot Andreas Lubitz has been accused by prosecutors for being responsible for the Germanwings jet crash into the French Alps last week. However, reports have since discovered various sick notes which he had concealed from his employers - including one in which his doctor declared him “unfit for work”.
"The fact that there are sick notes saying he was unable to work [supports] the assumption, based on the preliminary examination, that the deceased hid his illness from his employer and his professional colleagues," prosecutors said.
Lubitz locked his captain out of the cockpit during a toilet break and deliberately crashed the Airbus A320 on Tuesday, killing all 150 people on board.
