Hines explained to BuzzFeed the struggles he faced with Mental Health growing up. He talks openly about writing his own suicide letter at 17 and what went through his mind the second his jumped from the ledge "The millisecond my hands left the rail, it was an instant regret." He tells the camera that in that moment he remembers thinking No one's gonna know that I didn't want to die.
He shares a powerful message to others who've contemplated suicide like he has: "It's OK not to be OK. It's not OK not to ask someone to back you up … Recovery happens. I'm living proof."
