The Reason The Olsen Twins Passed On Fuller House Revealed
Practically everyone who was born before the millennium hit was excited to hear about the release of Fuller House.
The old cast would be getting together to create a part-two-type show that would work to satisfy the gaping, San Francisco-sized hole in our hearts.
Yep, pretty much the whole crew is back - that is, except for one very noticeable, totally adorable addition.
The Olsen Twins decided that they weren’t going to take time out of, whatever they’re doing, to rejoin their first ever cast - and now, we know why…
The cast and producers broke it down once and for all in an interview with People magazine:
Because Mary Kate and Ashley were both babies when they had the shared role, they’re not as attached to the show as some of the other cast members. "They're family members," Dave Coulier (Joey) said, "but I think they have a different perspective. When we get together and we reminisce, they were babies [at the time]. So they don't share those same memories. I can't really speak for them, but I would understand why they don't have the same sentiments that we all do."
They’re also busy running a fashion empire, The Row - which, funnily enough is how the show plans to explain Michelle Tanner's absence from the show. They're going to make out that she's a big time fashion designer living in New York City. Strangely accurate.
The other reason is, neither of them act anymore. Ashley said, 'I have not been in front of a camera since I was 17 and I don't feel comfortable acting,'" executive producer Bob Boyett said. "Mary-Kate said, 'It would have to be me because Ash doesn't want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us.'"
In other news, the first cast photo has been released!! AWESOME!
