Trashing Wedding Dress Trend Almost Takes Life
A bride was left fighting for her life on her wedding day after taking part in the 'Trash the dress' trend.
Any Zuno had just married the love of her life Eric earlier that day and the plan was continue the celebrations in the water.
The bride can be seen standing on the side of a boat readying herself to jump in before a bridesmaid suggests "Want me to jump in after you? So she doesn't sink."
Turns out that fear became frighteningly real very quickly as the bride launched into the depths of the water.
The dress quickly encapsulated her small frame and bunched up above her head, holding her underwater for almost half a minute.
Wedding guests, bridesmaids and her husband worked quickly to get the dress off her so that she could against surface and take a breath.
The bride told Inside Edition "I felt the weight of the dress on me. I heard screaming and people jumping into the water so then I was like, okay, maybe I just got married and I'm going to die today."
Despite the drama, Amy says she does not regret her decision to 'trash the dress'.
This is not the first instance of 'trashing the dress' or the 'fearless bride' trend going awry.
In 2012 a Canadian bride lost her life after entering a river as part of the wedding photography.
In a similar instance, her dress became heavy once drenched in water and despite the photographer and bystanders attempting to save her, she was dragged downstream.
Other attempts at 'trashing the dress' have also ended in close calls, on what is supposed to be the happiest day of the couple's lives.
