A new-look Canberra City Bowls Club in Braddon is on the way, with the developer coming up with some conceptual plans for the site.
Nik Bulum bought the site back in June, and has some big ideas for the space.
He wants to create a village within Braddon, complete with a boutique hotel, a free outdoor cinema, a function centre, and a resort-style pool with dining and bar options, as well as private cabanas to hire out.
Mr Bulum also wants to move The Hamlet there, from its current site on Lonsdale Street in Braddon.
"I sat down and thought what would make a great little thing that everyone can use, from having a party to a function, to just relaxing at night and watching a free movie and grabbing whatever type of food you want from The Hamlet," he said.
Mr Bulum said he was keen to sit down with the community to hear their thoughts.
"The plans are conceptual at the moment, I want to engage and sit down with the community around the area and get some input and discuss some ideas with them and see what they'd like to see as well," he said.
Development won't get underway until next year, so in the meantime, Mr Bulum will create a temporary dining project called 'Bonkers' with the guys behind Brodburger.
He said it will be up and running at the Bowls Club in October.
"We want to bring back the 80s classic into a cool dining experience done properly, and today's version," he said.
"So we're bringing back the Chiko Roll in a real gourmet way."
