Who doesn’t love a good Bunnings sausage sizzle?

It’s definitely a weekend highlight for many and some would even go as far to say you’re not Aussie if you haven’t tried it!

An upcoming Bunnings sausage sizzle has caused quite the stir though..

On Saturday July 15 there’ll be a VEGAN fundraising sausage sizzle at Bunnings Gungahlin to raise money for Little Oak Sanctuary.

Little Oak Sanctuary is a not-for-profit association that offers sanctuary to animals in need while promoting compassion for all animals.

So while it is for a good cause, it’s certainly not the traditional sausage sizzle most people are used to!

Several people have taken to Facebook to express their.. shall we say.. displeasure?

“Good luck. Thanks for the heads up so I make sure that I avoid. What a disgrace” – Stephen

“Let’s go to this, ask for a vegan sausage, drop it in the bin and go “please, another” will be the most entertaining $10 I’ll ever spend on multiple vegan snags” – Topher

“Ummm I’m busy” – Jamie

Not everyone’s unhappy with the idea though – some are stoked!

“OMG. We live a long way away but I think we need to come to this” – Liz

“So happy this is in Gungahlin! I’ll be able to come fill up on sausages before work. Love supporting Little Oak whenever I can, you guys are amazing” – Christiana

So far on Facebook, nearly 500 people have said they’re interested in the event and over 90 are going.
