Canberrans involved in road crashes are urged to double check driver details, to avoid getting conned.

It’s after a cyclist, who was hit by a ute in Bonython yesterday, was duped.

About 5:50pm, a green Holden ute exited the roundabout at the intersection of Drakeford Drive and Woodcock Drive, then hit a cyclist.

The driver gave the cyclist fake details, then took off before police got there.

Witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage is urged to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
