A local café is kicking major goals with its war on waste!
Since Frankies at Forde stopped using disposable coffee cups at the beginning of July, they’ve saved a whopping 3,750 cups from landfill.
The café also hasn’t seen any reductions in coffee sales, showing Canberrans really do care about their coffee AND the environment!
“We have had a very small amount of negative responses, but the process has been overwhelmingly positive,” the café posted on Facebook.
“We want to send out a massive thanks to everyone for getting onboard.”
The initial post announcing the plan was viewed nearly one million times.
It also attracted thousands of views and hundreds of comments!
Frankies is one of a growing list of Canberra establishments doing their bit to tackle the war on waste.
Earlier this year, the popular Mr Wolf nightclub decided to do away with straws, to help cut down on unnecessary plastic pollution.
Other café’s offering discounts for those who bring their own cup are Coffee Guru in Greenway and Soul Origin in Tuggeranong.
