Volunteers have been busy with their paintbrushes in Braddon, bringing plenty of colour to Lonsdale Street!

Canberra has its first rainbow roundabout, paying tribute to last week’s same-sex marriage postal survey vote.

The colourful project was promised by ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr, to honour Australia’s wishes for marriage equality.

The roundabout was painted just a week after Canberrans partied to the wee hours in Braddon, to celebrate the ACT’s highest YES vote of any state or territory at 74%.

It’s one of a number of projects popping up around the capital showing support for our LGBTIQ community.

Two rainbow-wrapped ACTION buses have been doing the rounds and there’s been several community events, including CBR Fair Day.

What other rainbow-themed projects or events would you like to see take place in Canberra? Have your say at our Facebook page!
