Canberra’s had its coldest morning of the year so far, with the temperature dropping down to a chilly -4.5 this morning.
And with winter just a couple of days away, we’re being told to expect more freezing mornings.
“Many people woke up this morning and it certainly felt like winter and the conditions across the next week are much more winter like than what we’ve been seeing over the last month,” Weatherzone meteorologist Rob Sharpe said.
“We’re expecting a few more mornings to be similar to this over the weekend and early next week.”
Canberra’s expecting top temps in the early to mid-teens over the next week, dropping to -4 and -5 degrees from Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the wintery conditions have been great for our ski fields, with Perisher opening their season early.
