Oktoberfest is just a few weeks away, but turns out it might be the last time it's held out at Exhibition Park, due to big increases in ACT Government charges.
Organisers say fees have risen from $6,000 in 2011 to around $41,500 this year.
So now, the Harmonie German Club is starting to look at holding it somewhere else from next year and beyond, maybe even in Queanbeyan.
President of the club Kevin Bramboeck said he thinks a lot of people are going to be upset.
"It's not just a piss-up about beer, this is a cultural event," he said.
"We're considering options to move our Oktoberfest to Queanbeyan, maybe the disused dog track, those are the sort of options we've got. Maybe even just pulling the plug altogether and running a small one just based in the club."
This year's Oktoberfest is on October 28, and organisers are promising it'll be the biggest ever.
