Canberrans have shown their generosity once again – helping raise around $13,000 for Annabelle Potts and her family at a Trivia Night.

Annabelle’s currently receiving treatment in Mexico for an aggressive brain tumour.

The Canberra community has rallied together for various projects and events to raise money for the family, who face some very expensive medical bills.

273 people turned out for the ‘Love for Annabelle Trivia night’ at The Abbey in Nicholls on Saturday.

Annabelle’s uncle Peter Griffiths welcomed the crowd with some moving words..

“I see plenty of familiar faces from previous fundraising events, especially the hard-working tradies and other community members that helped build Annabelle’s princess playground,” he said.

“We are deeply indebted to you, for your continued support and for helping to make little Annabelle smile throughout the last few months.”

Annabelle’s family also filmed a video, which was shown to the crowd.

The trivia and live auction were a hit, where several donated items reached astounding bids, raising just under $2,600.

Silent auction items also sold for just shy of $3,000!

Volunteers also rallied together to put on a raffle and a bake sale, where delicious goodies were snapped up quickly!

Annabelle’s uncle Peter topped off the night by thanking everyone for their generous contributions.

He left the crowd with this message..

“Annabelle Potts is not a statistic, a number, a diagnosis or a treatment with a number attached to her. She is a person, a little girl that laughs, a daughter that cries, a niece that smiles, a sister that cares and a friend that loves,” he said.

“She deserves hope, she deserves a chance, she deserves to dream, she deserves to smile and most of all she deserves a future.”

Annabelle’s aunty Shannon Griffiths, who helped organise the event, said the $13,000 raised is a true reflection of the ongoing love and support from the local community.

“You provide us hope, you keep us strong, your generosity gives us another day/week/month with our Annabelle and we cannot thank you enough.”

Annabelle and her family still need our help! Let’s keep the support going Canberra..

You can donate to the GoFundMe page or via PayPal.
