The hunt’s on for vandals after two doors at Gorman Arts Centre were set alight this morning.

ACT Fire and Rescue were called to the incident at the historic building on Ainslie Avenue just after 4:30am on Monday.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, and damage was contained to the doors only.

According to a statement from Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres..

“The motive appears to have been vandalism rather than an attempt to enter the premises. We will be working with the AFP to supply CCTV footage that may have captured images of the responsible person or people.”

“We are currently working with artsACT to assess the damage to the doors and arrange repairs today so that the buildings can be secured again.”

Police are investigating.

If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
