GRIFFITH MAN ESCAPES JAIL TIME FOR BURNED CAT
by Renee Bogatko
A Griffith man has been found guilty of abandoning an animal and failing to seek vet treatment, after a burned cat was dumped at the ACT RSPCA last year.
Stephen Braddon has received a one month suspended jail term, a one year good behaviour bond, and a 10 year animal ownership ban.
But his partner Ashley Dring failed to show up to court, with a warrant now out for her arrest.
CEO of the ACT RSPCA Tammy Ven Dange said while they are glad he copped a 10 year animal ownership ban, he should have also received jail time.
The burned cat, named Elsa, was successfully rehomed last year.
