The local community has again shown their big heart and generosity, by organising another event to raise money for Annabelle Potts.
Annabelle was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour nearly a year ago.
Since then, Annabelle and her family have been travelling to and from Mexico for treatment.
The doctors have said she will need 8-12 treatments, with maintenance every 3 months after that.
Annabelle’s just completed her 6th treatment and the family only has enough money for 7 treatments in total.
They cost about $23,000 each – and that’s not including travel and other expenses.
The local community’s organised a number of events to help raise money for the Potts family, with another one happening this weekend!
The Murrumbateman Twilight Country Fair, hosted by the Murrumbateman Pre-school, kicks off at 4pm on Saturday October 28 at 43 Rose St.
Money raised from selling the kids art work and photo booth pictures will be donated to Annabelle’s family.
“It is so incredible! People coming from everywhere wanting to help,” Annabelle’s mum Kathie said.
“We didn’t even know about it, people are doing it completely out of the goodness of their heart to help give our little girl a fighting chance.”
The family’s back in Sydney this week to get an update from Annabelle’s doctors.
They’ll also inquire about an upcoming clinical trial in Australia for children with DIPG, and two treatment plans for children with rare cancers – AIM brain and Zero childhood cancer.
