There’s been a major breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of Bobby Stuart Allan.

Officers arrested a 49 year old man, who was known to police, at a street in Griffith yesterday.

It’s after the victim showed up at a house in Rivett on Sunday December 17, with critical injuries.

He died at the scene.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Steele said the arrest presents a significant breakthrough in the investigation and goes a long way to getting justice for the family.

“Our homicide detectives have worked tirelessly around the clock using information from members of the public and that went a long way into that arrest.”

Superintendent Steele said the investigation is ongoing.

“I’d like to thank the Canberra public for the information they’ve provided to ACT Policing and just remind everybody that if they’ve got any information regarding this investigation, no matter how small they think it is, they can contact police or Crime Stoppers.”

More arrests are expected to be made in due course.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
