by Katarina Slavich
A 43-year-old man who went missing while hiking near Thredbo in the NSW Snowy Mountains on Monday has been found safe and well. The man headed out to Dead Horse Gap at around 1am, with plans to walk to Ramshead Range. But at around 6am, he called a friend to let them know he was lost, which prompted an air and land search. At about 3am on Tuesday, the man managed to find his own way back to the road, and found his parked car, after spending nearly 24 hours lost in the wilderness. He let a friend know he was safe and well, and spoke to police at Jindabyne, before heading home.
