Opportunity for Raiders under Thursday Night lights

by Brent Ford

A huge chance tonight for our Canberra Raiders to move into the top four with a win over the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

The Raiders will be without Jack Wighton and Shannon Boyd who are both out with suspension. However Zac Santo will provide plenty in attack following his form with the Mounties (Raiders affiliate) in the New South Wales Cup, and Paul Vaughan returns to the side following a rest.

Some of the focus will be on Joey Leilua, the former Newcastle bad boy has turned his game around to become on of the competition's most consistent. There are reports he could also be in line for a NSW Blues call up if he has a good game tonight.

It'll be a big test for the Raiders who are looking to snap a 13-year drought at Suncorp Stadium, to put it in perspective current Raiders captain and leading all time point scorer Jarrod Croker was just starting high school.

The sides bring contrasting form into the game. The Raiders are looking for four wins in a row, while the Broncos are looking to snap a three game losing streak.

Something coach Wayne Bennett isn't happy about and has been more than happy to blame on Origin. When you add to the mix former Raider Anthony Milford playing against his old side, this game is shaping as a huge contest.
