A lot of people like to whinge about how cold Canberra gets in winter. Those freezing nights and frosty mornings can be tough.

But no one’s more familiar with those icy temps than our homeless.

It’s an issue Jane Pettersen from Pink Ink and Alicia Xyrakis from Rebel Muse have decided to tackle, through the help of their customers.

They started Pink’s Rebel Cause about a month ago – a social initiative calling for donations of warm and comfortable coats and female hygiene products, to be delivered directly to those in need.

It’s after Jane and Alicia were astounded to learn a worrying statistic – around 700 women are homeless in the ACT each night.

The response so far has been fantastic.

“As of today we have delivered directly to those in need over 200 coats and four large bags of female hygiene products,” Jane said.

“A great result, but still more women to reach.”

They’re goal is to deliver 400 coats, and they’re confident with the help of the Canberra community, they can do it.

You can support Pink’s Rebel Cause by dropping off a warm and comfortable coat to either Pink Ink or Rebel Muse in Braddon, or BabyPink in Deakin.

For this donation, they’re offering a $50 voucher from one of the stores towards the Spring Collections!

Let’s get behind this cause Canberra!
