Police were kept busy on the weekend catching speedsters doing ridiculous limits on the Hume Highway.

Just before 1am this morning, a Victorian registered Holden Cruze sedan was caught travelling southbound on the Hume Highway, Goulburn, at 215km/h in the 110km/h zone.

The 26-year-old international licence holder will face court next month and his visiting driving privileges in New South Wales were suspended.

While yesterday afternoon, a 23-year-old p-plater was caught doing 185km/h on the Federal Highway at Collector.

His licence only entitles him to a maximum speed limit of 90km/h.

The driver lost his licence for six months, so a friend came to pick him up.

But just a couple of hours later, police spotted the same car travelling northbound on the Hume Highway at Goulburn, with the same man behind the wheel.

The driver was arrested and charged with drive whilst suspended.

He was given conditional bail to face court next month.

The incident happened the same day a storm came through, leaving ice on the road near Goulburn.

10 mils of rain and fail fell in just half an hour from 6pm!

What do you think is an appropriate punishment for drivers who speed this fast? Have your say at our Facebook page!
