THIEVES THREATEN BOTTLESHOP WORKER WITH GUN

by Renee Bogatko

The hunt is on for two men who held up a bottle shop in Canberra's north on Wednesday night.

Police say two men in balaclavas entered the Celebrations bottle shop on O'Hanlon Place in Nicholls, about 7:45pm.

They allegedly threatened a staff member at gunpoint, before fleeing with cash and cigarettes in a white Ford Courier ute with ACT registration YHV88Z.

Police have now found the ute, but are still searching for the culprits.

They are described as being of fair complexion, about 173cm tall, and aged in their 20s.

One was wearing grey track pants, a grey hoodie, and a black balaclava.

The other was carrying a white bag, and was wearing grey trousers, a blue hoodie with red lining, and a black balaclava.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000, or report via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
