Thredbo Snow Report 7th July
by Luke Kneller
A mixed bag of weather this week in Thredbo, we saw around 15-20cm of snow fall across the resort Tuesday night into Monday morning before the freezing levels rose and rain fell for most of Wednesday.
There is still a great cover top to bottom though with something to be found for every level. Karels T-Bar made its seasonal debut on Tuesday adding to the 12 lifts already in operation. Karels T-Bar is the highest lifted point in Australia and with it running it allows the Supertrail to be open in all its glory as the longest run in Australia coming in at 3.7km. Beginners have plenty on offer as well though with the gentle slopes of Friday Flat and the intermediates can perfect the basics at the Cruiser Area. For those not up to skiing or boarding though there is plenty on offer off the mountain with the Free Snow Play Area, beautiful village and the leisure centre complete with 50m Swimming Pool, water slide and mission inflatable.
We are expecting a mostly clear Saturday before winds increase and another front comes through Sunday into Tuesday with up to 25cms expected! Sponors T-Bar is set to make its debut as well, meaning all lifts open.
