Work’s in full swing to get a Princess Playground built for terminally ill Canberra toddler Annabelle Potts.

Tradies were at the family’s house in Evatt bright and early this morning, tools in hand, ready to go.

Project Manager James O’Sullivan spoke to Kristen and Rod on site this morning.

“We have the excavator out the front starting to demolish the driveway, he'll be pulling the wall down. We've got the guys from IC Formwork pulling the pergola down in the backyard. And then the wall comes down, the bobcat comes in, and earthworks begin,” he said.

“How good is Canberra. This is absolutely unbelievable. To have a community come together like this at this time of day and through the week is absolutely awesome.”

Dozens of volunteers have come together for the project, donating their time, skills and materials.

Annabelle’s uncle Anthony Griffiths said the family is blown away by the community’s generosity.

"This sort of response from everyone in Canberra has been amazing the way people have just jumped on board, it's really overwhelming, and it's really nice to see."

Anthony said they never expected anything like what has essentially become a total garden makeover!

"A lot of the work that's been done around the house, it's just going to enable them to have a lifestyle where every day is going to be of huge quality, spending time together as a family."

Work will continue throughout the week to create this amazing space for Annabelle and her family, before the big reveal when they return home from Sydney.

Thanks so much again Canberra for your help!
