It’s easy to get into a negative frame of mind with the daily stresses of work and money. However, taking a few moments to savour and appreciate the things we are blessed with can work wonders. Robert Emmons, bestselling author Gratitude Works and a professor at the University of California at Davis defines gratitude in the following way: “It’s a “felt sense of wonder, thankfulness, and appreciation for life.” According to Psychology Today expressing gratitude can even make you sexier! Well, we like the sound of that!

Catch Up With A Friend

Feeling down? Catch up with a friend in person, via phone or even email. Researchers have identified that devoting time to family and friends can lead to a happy life. “The primary components are number of friends, closeness of friends, closeness of family, and relationships with co-workers and neighbours. Together these features explain about 70 percent of personal happiness” – Murray and Peacock 1996 via The 100 Simple Secrets of Happy People.
