Pregnant Insta Star Hits Back At Body Shamers
She may be a midwife and promote health and fitness online, but that didn’t stop Insta star, Hannah Polites, from being attacked over her baby bump.
At six months pregnant, the 24-year-old may have a figure that many would be envious of – but it also has them accusing her of starving her baby.
From “Poor baby, eat more” to “You’re starving your unborn child, that’s unhealthy!” the body shamers have not been kind.
Talking to the Gold Coast Bulletin, Polites said her bub is 20 per cent bigger than the average.
It’s a comforting fact when she deals with the hate.
“I do not take the negative comments to heart, especially when I know I am making informed decisions when it comes to nutrition and exercise in pregnancy and motherhood,” she said.
“My life can be confronting for women because it differs to their own choices, but this is who I am and everyone is welcome to share their own journeys.”
Sadly, she’s not the first to cop criticism.

Sophie Guidolin and Ashy Bines were also targeted during their pregnancies.
Both were criticised for continuing their fitness regimes with Guidolin making headlines for continuing to lift weights.
Woahhh.. How insane is this timeline? In the first photo I was 4months pregnant, and in the last photo I was 4months postpartum. ☺️ the human body is so incredibly crazy how we can reproduce, and grow a baby in just 9 months (anyone who has been pregnant will disagree with the 'just' 9 months as it feels like a lifetime waiting!) 😝 Seeing our beautiful twins @evie_and_aria growing before our eyes is so amazing, their little personalities shining through. 😍 I love being a mum so so much & wouldn't know myself any other way! For those interested in my pregnancy journey & beyond- I blogged on my website: www.sophieguidolin.com.au ☺️ #twinpregnancy #sophieguidolin #fitmama
Model, Sarah Stage, was also criticised last year for her small bump.
She later revealed she gained 12kg, giving birth to a 3.9kg healthy baby boy.
