The One BIG Birth Control Benefit You Should Know About

If you take the pill, no doubt you'll know what a lifesaver it is.

No more painful cramps, no period, no getting pregnant - and even skin that's glowing and more clear, if that's what you wanted.

Yep, it's pretty much a wonder pill that's plentiful in benefits, but there's a good chance you don't know about the best benefit of all...

According to a new 2015 study coming out of the UK, oral contraceptives have prevented 400,000 cases of endometrial cancer in the past 50 years. Half that just between 2005-2014 alone.

Endometrial cancer, or uterine cancer, begins in the lining of the uterus and can occur when a woman has too much of the estrogen hormone when compared to the progesterone hormone. if the imbalance persists over time, the chances of developing endometrial cancer after the age of 50 are much higher.

Even more awesomely, an earlier study from 2010 shows that taking birth control also cuts your risk of ovarian cancer in half.

The great news is that endometrial cancer is very treatable when detected early and is usually easily detected early because one of the first signs is irregular vaginal bleeding, something that doesn't happen if you're taking oral contraceptive.
