Australian State To Formally Recognise Same-Sex Marriages
The Relationships Register Bill has successfully been passed in South Australia's State Parliament.
The bill will allow all couples to be registered so that they can be recognised in the eyes of the state government.
Premier Jay Weatherill has said that this bill paves the way for all loving couples to have rights and be recognised.

This bill also updates to the existing Equal Opportunity Act, with a note added that people cannot be discriminated agaisnt because of their intersex status, be it past or current.
The government of South Australia also passed another bill which simplifies the process of obtaining a new birth certificate, which recognises as change in sex or gender.
