Your Mobile Phone Company Could Be About To Give You Cash
Hundreds of thousands of mobile phone users will be happy to hear that they'll be compensated after they were overcharged.
Optus will be forced to pay out around $2.4 million to 175,000 customers after they were overcharged on their phone insurance policies.
It's believed up to 500,000 additional people will be contacted to see if they too, were charged incorrectly.
Customers will have credit applied to their account and any compensation will include interest.
The reasons given for the overcharging are poor training, monitoring and supervision of staff when customers were signing up for phone insurance.
Anyone who is affected should contact Optus on 1800 854 349.
