JonBenet Ramsey Murder Case To Get Own TV Series

Shows like 'Making a murderer' and the OJ Simpson trials have been captivating audiences this year, so it's no surprise that TV networks are on the lookout for other notorious criminal cases to investigate and revisit.

And it seems CBS have pinpointed the JonBenet Ramsey case as their next project.

The premise of the show is for the original investigators to be joined by new experts to re-examine the case.

The 20 year anniversary of the incident further enhances the appeal.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, stating Emmy winner Tom Forman would be at the helm to produce the docu-series.

Details of the six year old beauty pageant contestant's murder are still largely unknown.

Initially JonBenet's parents and older brother were suspected of the young girl's murder but the trio were exonerated in 2008 after DNA testing implied they were not involved.

The case was re-opened in 2009.

The new TV series could reach our screens as soon as Spring, to coincide with the anniversary.
