We’ve all experienced that dreaded feeling you get when driving into the shopping centre car parks at this time of year.
It can often feel like you spend more time trying to snag a park, than shopping itself!
So we’ve got the hot tip on how to score a park at the shops this Christmas!
Mathematician Joseph Pegano says people are usually “circlers” or “stalkers” when trying to find a car space.
Circlers drive around endlessly hoping to spot someone leaving – this approach often leads to great frustration and minimal success.
Pegano reckons stalkers have the right approach.
They follow someone at slow speed back to their car, which Pegano says is the ultimate way to snag a car park.
So in an effort to make the whole experience that bit less stressful, here are some tips:
- Pick an aisle with at least ten cars down each side.
- Statistically, 1 shopper from that aisle will be leaving within 9 minutes, allowing you to score their space.
So go forth stalkers, happy stress free Christmas shopping!
