Verdict Delivered In US Over Shooting Of Aussie Woman
A jury has reached a verdict in the trial of a Minneapolis police officer who shot an unarmed Australian woman.
Mohamed Noor was charged with murder and manslaughter over a 2017 incident where Justine Ruszczyk Damond was shot shortly after calling 911 to report a possible sexual assault.
Noor testified he shot the dual Australian and US citizen after hearing a loud bang on his squad car and saw Damond at his partner’s window.
He was charged with 2nd and 3rd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter.
The jury of ten men and two women found Noor guilty of 3rd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter charges and acquitted of 2nd-degree murder just after 8am this morning.
