9) National Sheepdog Trial Championships
Head along to get a fascinating insight this challenging sport and Australia's rural life. Don’t miss this compelling sometimes nail-biting spectator experience, featuring about 50 handlers and 200 dogs. The original Duke of Gloucester Sash, first presented in 1945, will be presented this year.

8) The Full Monty
The Full Monty follows six steelworkers desperately looking for work to support their families when they come up with a bold way to make some cash. Filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show, audiences will be wondering if these lovable misfits will really pull it off!

7) ACT Miniature Show & Dollhouse Fair
This year, the feature display will be 'Magnificent Manor'. The "Make and Take" table will return for children wanting to learn a miniature skill. There’ll also be a dollhouse play area for the littlies. The show also offers items for sale from local and interstate artisans and traders. 2019 marks the 16th Anniversary of donating show profits to Black Mountain School.

6) Kick 2 Kick 4 a Cause
The Kick 2 Kick 4 a Cause is back for 2019 to support men’s mental health in the ACT! Participants will hit the field to attempt a 24-hour-straight game of kick to kick. While registrations have closed, you can still help raise $100,000 for Menslink by donating and/or getting down there to support those taking part.

5) World's Greatest Shave
This year, the Leukaemia Foundation celebrates 21 years of the World’s Greatest Shave campaign.
Support the dozens of Canberrans getting their hair shaved or coloured for a good cause. There’s fundraisers happening at places like Yarralumla Shops, Bunnings Canberra Airport, Bunnings Tuggeranong and more! Help Aussie families beat blood cancer.

4) Canberra Craft Beer & Cider Festival
This fantastic festival is back for its 12th year! Featuring craft breweries showcasing up to 200 beers and ciders, local gourmet food stores, live entertainment, beer and food matching, meet the brewers, give-aways, jumping castle, face painting, charity raffle and more!

3) Government House Open Day
This Open Day allows you to go beyond the gate, explore the house and grounds and find out about life at Australia’s vice-regal residence. The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove will meet visitors throughout the day. Food and drink will be available, but families are welcome to bring a picnic. There’ll also be fun activities, hot air balloons and a range of displays.

2) Canberra Balloon Spectacular
Wake up to the view of hot air balloons floating across the city! More than 30 hot air balloons from across the globe will take to the skies – weather permitting. Keep an eye out for the special shape balloon – Beagle Maximus! Flurries of colour, sound and movement will be complemented by live music, hot drinks and a delicious brekkie by the Belconnen Lions Club.

Skyfire celebrates 31 years as Canberra’s best attended, free outdoor community event! There’ll be plenty for the family to see and do, including great on-stage performances by artists like Samantha Jade, food vans, free play Nerf Arena, the Navy Squirrel Helicopters, the Airforce Flyover (with a different BIGGER plane this year) and of course, the spectacular fireworks!
