For one day only, animal lovers will be given a rare opportunity to double the dollars they donate to RSPCA ACT. “Give to Get Them Home” is being held on Thursday, 1 October and is a 24 hour maximum impact dollar matching initiative.
RSPCA ACT CEO Michelle Robertson said that “we know Canberrans are currently feeling the strain in their back pockets, so dollar matching fundraising events are a wonderful way for even the smallest donation to make a big difference.”
She especially thanked the donors who provided the seed dollar-matching funds. “These special people made it possible for the ACT to participate with other RSPCAs across the country.
2020 has not been the year anyone expected, and we have all been affected. Regardless, animals still need to be saved, cared for, rehabilitated and nursed back to health.
Throughout, our Inspectors have continued to be out on the road, our vet clinics continued to treat sick animals and our shelter staff worked hard every day to find loving new homes for the animals in our care.”
RSPCA ACT hopes that the community will get involved by contributing to this dollar matching initiative via https://www.charidy.com/rspcaact or via telephone (6287 8100)
Every single dollar counts!
There are also some other ways members of the public can support our shelter which include:
- leading by example by simply loving their pets and being a responsible pet owner
- considering volunteering at the RSPCA or another reputable animal shelter or rescue group
- spreading the word about the importance of recognising animals as sentient beings and supporting our RSPCA mission to prevent cruelty to animals.
