It’s usually reserved for some of the country’s greatest sporting stars and now Canberrans can take a swing of their own ball as Stadium Golf returns to the Nation’s Capital.

Now in its third year, Stadium Golf see’s the ‘sacred’ turf at Canberra’s GIO Stadium transformed into a giant elevated golf range.

11 platforms have built into the stands with holes marked out in the grass below.

But Venues Canberra Executive Branch Manager, Matthew Elkins said it’s not just the field that punters get to explore with some of the lesser seen quarters of the stadium also open for a hit.

“You get the chance to walk down into the inner sanctum of the stadium, where the likes of Ricky Stuart and Mal Meninga have sat, and you can putt in the changerooms.”

Stadium Golf runs from December 2 to December 4 with tickets available online here but you’ll need to be quick.

Matt Elkins checked in with Cam & Kristen ahead of the launch next month.
