With Mother’s Day happening this weekend we did our research to find out what are the top things to do. We’ve put together a list of our favourites so there is bound to be something perfect here to do (depending on what your mum likes, because you know, it is all about her!).
Mother’s Day at Pialligo Estate
With bubbles on arrival, settle in for 3 courses, shared plates, in an unforgettable venue with a peerless view, Mother’s Day lunch at Pialligo Estate is a winner. At the event they will also have a special Mother’s Day Dry Martini, curated specially for our Glasshouse guests from our exclusive selection of 708 Gin. There are two sessions: 11:30am -2:00pm and 2:30pm – 5:00pm. The cost to attend is $110 per person. Head to the website to book.
Mother’s Day Classic
One of Canberra’s longest standing fundraising events. The walk started as a way to celebrate and remember those who have been touched by breast cancer. Grab your mum, some runners and walk along either Lake Ginninderra or Lake Burley Griffin. All funds rasied from the event go to breast cancer research. Tickets start at $57.95. Tickets are on sale now.
QT Mother’s Day Lunch
Every mum deserves to be spoilt. This is why QT could be the perfect spot to spend the day sipping on the finer things in life with the lady you love. The Afternoon QTea has an exclusive menu by Executive Cher, Josh Smith-Thirkell and will include the best sweet and savoury items to keep you satisfied. There are two sitting at 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Tickets are $65 per person. Spots are limited and can be booked on their website.
Mother’s Day at Haig Park Village Markets
This Sunday the iconic Haig Park Markets will be all about mum. Featuring the best hand made jewellery, candles, fashion and beauty stalls, you will be able to treat your mum to something special. Located in Braddon, the markets open at 9am and they finish up at 2pm.
From time to time we like to share local stories with you about what is happening around Canberra thanks to Ginninderry.
