A man has been charged after police found multiple child abuse materials during a search of his Greenway residence on Wednesday.

Police seized a number of devices while executing a warrant to search the home, allegedly finding images and videos depicting abuse of a child.

During the search the 67-year-old is accused of unsuccessfully attempting to shut off the power to his home in a bid to prevent officers from accessing his computer.

Further forensic analysis of the man’s electronic devices will be undertaken.

The man has been bailed and is due to appear in court next month.

Police are also reminding anyone with information relating to child abuse material should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
