A Supermarket in Canberra has been slammed online after it was caught selling 50 packs of disposable face masks for $119.99

A shopper snapped a pic of the extravagant price tag at the Kingston Supabarn on Sunday and shared it to Reddit.

It came just hours after the announcement of an indoor mask mandate in the ACT, marking the first time masks have been made mandatory in Canberra during the pandemic.

The Supermarket has since apologised and said it got it wrong.

A post on its Facebook page said a system error was to blame.

“A system error occurred yesterday with the software that we are currently using and the software failed to update the pricing for this product from $119.99 down to $39.99 per pack.”

The supermarket is now offering for customers who bought the face masks at the $119.99 price to come back to the store and receive a partial refund.
