Sitting down at the integration table, only this time you’re asking the questions.

ACT Policing will give Canberrans the chance to share what’s on their mind with a member of the force when they bring back the ‘Coffee with a Cop’ program for the first time in 2021.

Members from the Gungahlin Police Station, Road Policing and Community Safety divisions will be on hand at Casey Market Town on Friday to meet with members of the community and shout them a cuppa.

Officer in Charge of Gungahlin Police Station, Inspector Rachel Hutka said it’s a great opportunity the for both the force and the community to engage in a less formal setting.

“Unfortunately, many people’s engagement with police only comes when a crime has been committed.”

“Coffee with a Cop gives people the chance to meet their local police in a more casual environment to discuss what’s going on in their neighbourhood, ask their police or law-related questions, or just chat about what’s happening in their community.” She added.

The program was first trialled in the ACT back in 2019 however plans for subsequent events until now had been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Coffee with a Cop’ takes place from 9am on Friday 19 March at the Pixie and Bear Café in Casey.
